Soccer challenge

The West Jefferson Hills Council of the Knights of Columbus is holding its Annual Soccer Challenge for boys and girls 9-14 (as of Sept. 1, 2023) on Sept. 14 from 5:30-8 p.m. at St. Thomas a’ Becket Church in Jefferson Hills. A rain date (if and only if necessary) has been scheduled for the same time and place on Sept. 19.

Registration will begin at 5 p.m. and will be at the field at the time the participant arrives to compete. Birth certificate or other proof of age is required at registration. There is no cost to participate.

The Soccer Challenge involves each contestant taking 15 penalty kicks and their total score depends on the area of the goal each kicked ball enters. Winners in each age group at this council level of competition will receive a trophy and will advance to the district level of competition. Winners from the district level will advance to the regional level, and winners from the regional level will advance to the state level, all to be held later this fall.
