Free throw championship

The West Jefferson Hills Council of the Knights of Columbus is holding its annual Basketball Free Throw Championship for boys and girls aged 9-14 years old (age as of Jan. 1, 2024) on Feb. 6 at the Pleasant Hills Middle School gym. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the competition is from 6-7:30 p.m. Competing in the council level free throw championship requires each participant to take 15 free throw shots and the boy and girl participant in each boy and girl age group who makes the most free throw shots wins the competition. Each winner in the council level receives a trophy and all participants receive a participation certificate. There is no cost for participation. Winners at this council level will advance to the district level, to be held at the Pleasant Hills Middle School gym immediately following the council level, from 7:30-9 p.m. Winners of the district level will advance to the regional level, and winners of the regional level will advance to the state level, with the regional level to be held on Feb. 24. Birth certificate or other proof of age is required at the time of registration for the Fcouncil level of competition. For additional information, call Chuck at 412-427-8543.
