Man shot in Brentwood, police seek suspect
One man was injured and another man was being sought as a suspect after a shooting Wednesday morning in Brentwood.
Brentwood police were dispatched to the shooting at about 9 a.m. in the 100 block of Hillson Avenue, Allegheny County Police spokesman Jim Madalinsky said.
First responders found the man, who police did not name, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
County police detectives named Joseph Luman, 45, as a suspect in the shooting.
Amid constant sirens, Allegheny County sheriff’s deputies, Pittsburgh police, Baldwin police and multiple unmarked cars swarmed Hillson Avenue Wednesday, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Brentwood Schools currently are in lockdown, WTAE reported.
A vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description was spotted in the area Wednesday, Madalinsky said. After Brentwood police attempted to stop the vehicle, “a brief pursuit occurred.” The vehicle stopped at the intersection of Routes 51 and 88.
An adult woman, who police did not name, was driving the vehicle and detained, Madalinsky said. Luman was not inside the vehicle.
Police determined the woman had witnessed the shooting.
“Multiple agencies are currently aiding in the search” for Luman. If anyone sees him, do not approach him; call 9-1-1.
Anyone with information on Luman’s whereabouts is asked to call the County Police Tip Line 1-833-255-8477.
