Pleasant Hills will allow West Jefferson Hills School District to use its Breisinger Field soccer fields free of charge through the middle of October.
The unanimous decision came during a regularly scheduled council meeting Aug. 17.
According to the agreement, the school district will have exclusive access to the fields off East Bruceton Road and Winifred Drive from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday through Oct. 16. The deal became effective Aug. 17.
West Jefferson Hills students return to school using a hybrid learning model Aug. 24, according to the district’s website.
The school district will be restricted from using the field on Sept. 9, 11 and 16, according to the contract.
Kelly Theiss, the borough’s manager, said all teams who want to use the soccer fields have a contract with the borough.
In other news, council opened bids submitted for a project aimed at improving an access road to Mowery Park. Five companies submitted bids for the project.
• A. Folino Construction, Inc. — $192,695
• Iron City Construction — $156,200
• Independent Construction — $189,138
• Mele & Mele & Sons, Inc. — $158,597.50
• Sciarretti Site Development & Paving Co, Inc — $224,322.07
Mayor Bill Trimbath said no one was awarded a bid Monday because the borough needs to review the bid documents. He said council will award the bid during its September meeting.
“This is just part of our ongoing program to improve our parks and recreation facilities, and upgrading our public areas for our public,” Trimbath said.
