Prospect Road in Baldwin Borough will close between Beryl Drive and the entrance to the Carapel Townhouses beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 14 according to a news release from the Allegheny County Department of Public Works. The closure is expected to end in October and will be followed by periodic single-lane closures until November .

The restrictions are required for slope stabilization work, the release states.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured using East Willock Road and Streets Run Road. During the periodic single-lane closures, traffic will be controlled using flaggers. Nearby residents will have access to their homes at all times.

The northbound lane of that section of Prospect Road has been closed at the landslide site since Feb. 14, 2019. Traffic is being controlled using alternating traffic signals.

The $325,950 project is being done by Michael Facchiano Contracting, Inc., of Mt. Lebanon.
