MathCon National Finals

Thomas Jefferson High School junior Anthony Sparta advanced to the National Finals of the MathCon Math Competition, based upon his recent score on the MathCon online exam. Students from 854 high schools across the United States and Canada took the exam, and Sparta scored in the top 94th percentile. The MathCon Finals will take place on May 1.

Worked on spring musical

Seton Hill’s Department of Theatre and Dance presented streamed recorded performances of the music of Goldrich and Heisler in two parts last month — “I Believe in Love” and “Make Your Own Party.” Tara Dougherty of Jefferson Hills was a carpenter on the production and technical staff.

Accepted to degree program

Nicholas Altavilla, a graduate of Baldwin High School, has been accepted for enrollment for the spring 2021 trimester in the Doctor of Chiropractic degree program at Palmer College’s main campus in Davenport, Iowa.

Catholic school opening

South Hills Catholic Academy is a new independent Catholic school opening for the 2021-2022 academic year. SHCA will offer a Classical Catholic curriculum based upon The Educational Plan of St. Jerome Classical School.
