A woman from Pittsburgh’s Summer Hill neighborhood died Saturday after a crash that briefly closed the eastbound lanes of the Fort Pitt Tunnel.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office identified the deceased as Marcia Winston, 62.

The incident happened around 1:45 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s report.

Winston was transported to UPMC Presbyterian hospital, where she died roughly an hour after the crash, the report stated.

A county dispatcher did not know the number of vehicles involved, but said no one else was hospitalized as a result of the crash.

State police, who are investigating the incident, did not return a request for further information.
