It’s time to trick or treat at McCandless Crossing.

The free event 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 lets children to gather Halloween treats from participating McCandless Crossing retailers, restaurants and businesses.

Children wishing to participate must be accompanied by an adult to register on the Town Green (between Old Navy and Ethan Allen) starting at 5 p.m. At registration, each child will receive a glow bracelet and a trick-or-treat bag. Participating businesses will be identified by a white ghost in their windows.

In conjunction with the Halloween festivities, Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania Troop #36774 will be on site hosting a holiday food drive. The troop will collect canned goods and nonperishable items to create “Everything but the Turkey” meal packages. Donations will be distributed at the West View HUB Food Pantry during the Thanksgiving and December holiday seasons.

AdVenture Development President Kevin Dougherty says, “We always have a great turnout for our trick-or-treat event, and our McCandless Crossing stores and businesses enjoy getting involved in the fun. We encourage local families to take advantage of this free event and to participate in the Girl Scout food drive.”
