New Kensington police arrested two people after officers responding to a burglary call caught them inside a condemned building.

Eleanor Nicole McAllister, 30, of the 200 block of North Street in New Kensington was charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass along with a count of theft.

Jeremy Richard Hoessler, 32, of the 500 block of Ridge Avenue in New Kensington was charged with felony burglary and criminal trespass as well as fleeing from police.

McAllister was released from custody on a $10,000 unsecured bond. Hoessler was released after a $1,000 bond was posted on his behalf, which is 10% of the cash bail set during his arraignment.

They face preliminary hearings Thursday before District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr., according to court records.

Police wrote in a criminal complaint that the owner of a building in the 1300 block of Leishman Avenue called 911 shortly before 9:30 a.m. Sunday to report that a woman was inside the building, which was condemned and posted with “Do Not Enter” signs.

An officer who arrived on the scene spotted McAllister standing inside the back door of the building and ordered her out, the complaint said. The officer said he was familiar with her from previous encounters.

Hoessler appeared in the doorway as McAllister walked toward the officer and said “we were just taking the washer hoses,” the complaint said.

Hoessler ran when the officer told McAllister she was under arrest, and he was shocked with a stun gun by another officer who responded to the scene after he refused orders to stop, according to the complaint.

He was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Harrison to be checked and released back to police.

The owner of the building gave police video from security cameras that show McAllister and Hoessler inside the building, the complaint said.
