An Arnold man is in custody in connection to a shooting Monday night along Third Avenue.

Nile Rodgers, 33, faces attempted homicide and two aggravated assault charges.

Arnold police allege Rodgers shot a man in his 30s at around 9 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of Third Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found the victim shot in his torso, face and arm, according to a criminal complaint. The victim identified Rodgers as the person who shot him, and that he ran away from the scene, the complaint said.

The victim was taken to a local trauma center. Police were not aware of his condition.

Rodgers was taken into custody without incident and was arraigned Thursday before New Kensington District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr.

Pallone denied bond, indicating that Rodgers is a danger to the community and that no combination of conditions will assure his appearance at a preliminary hearing, according to online court records.

Rodgers is being held in the Westmoreland County jail. A preliminary hearing before Pallone is scheduled for Nov. 20.
