Buffalo Township police are searching for a man who caused a hit-and-run crash Saturday at the intersection of Freeport Road and Route 356.
Shortly before 10 p.m, a vehicle coming down Freeport Road from Harrison collided with a passenger vehicle making a legal left turn onto the Freeport Bridge from Route 356, according to Chief Tim Derringer.
The man, who was believed to be driving a dark SUV, either blew through the red light to continue straight or failed to yield turning onto the bridge, according to Derringer.
He said the driver of the other vehicle suffered a leg injury and could not immediately get out of the vehicle, but did observe a bearded actor who fled across the bridge into Allegheny Township.
Police are asking for the public’s help to locate the SUV, which sustained heavy front-end damage and had both air bags deployed.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Buffalo Township police at 724-295-9500 or Butler County non-emergency dispatch at 724-287-7769.
