The Burrell School District community held a special event Friday that went well beyond playing a football game.

The district called for a Pink Out game, in which fans were encouraged to wear pink in support of the Change for Cancer campaign. The campaign raises money for research and awareness about breast cancer.

The Burrell student section was well represented, with many kids wearing pink T-shirts.

The district also sold T-shirts to aid the cause.

Both the Burrell and Highlands High School cheerleaders contributed by performing “Flips for Tips” to benefit the campaign. The cheerleaders took requests from onlookers for tumbling and stunt skills in exchange for a donation.

Both school districts participate in Change for Cancer throughout the year.
