A stretch of Route 356 between Route 56 and Freeport has reopened after a crash that brought down a pole and wires Friday morning, a Westmoreland County emergency dispatcher said.

The one-vehicle crash happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. when the driver of a pickup was pulling into his own driveway, the dispatcher said.

No one was hurt, the official said.

Route 356 was closed to traffic for about a mile between Williams and Fire Hall roads.

Allegheny Township police could not be reached for information about the crash.

As of 6:50 a.m., West Penn Power was reporting 86 customers without power. That number was down to less than 5 shortly after 10 a.m.
