Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of a New Kensington man outside his apartment building in December.
James Michael Hayes, 31, was found shot to death about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the parking lot behind Kensington Arms Apartments in the 400 block of 11th Street.
Hayes lived in a third-floor apartment there, an acquaintance told the Tribune-Review.
The shooting is being investigated by New Kensington police and Westmoreland County detectives.
No arrests have been made.
Investigators have not released additional details about the shooting or possible suspects.
The Crime Stoppers notification said evidence at the scene indicates there were possibly three shooters involved in the incident. The organization did not list the amount of the reward being offered for information leading to an arrest.
Hayes was from Reading, Berks County, and graduated from Wilson High School. He was working as an industrial painter at Avalotis Painting Co. in Verona. He had three daughters, ages 8, 7 and 3.
