A Pittsburgh woman accused of entering unlocked apartments in Tarentum and stealing random items — including a crossbow, cologne, cleaning supplies, loose change and men’s underwear — faces multiple felony charges.

Darcy Lynn Hudson, 57, of the 2300 block of Cobden Street in the city’s Arlington neighborhood was charged with two counts each of burglary and criminal trespass along with theft and receiving stolen property, which are felonies. She also was charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property in connection with the alleged thefts in November.

Hudson is being detained in the Allegheny County Jail after her bail was revoked during a May 11 hearing, according to court records, which show she also is facing theft and other charges in McCandless, Pittsburgh and Scott Township.

Hudson faces a preliminary hearing on the charges filed by Tarentum police before District Judge Carolyn Bengel on May 31.

Police wrote in a criminal complaint that officers took a report for a burglary Nov. 3 from a resident of an apartment in the 600 block of Lock Street.

The man told police he arrived home from work to find underwear missing from his bedroom dresser as well as a watch, a coin collection, cleaning supplies and a crossbow, the complaint said.

The man told police that he works nearby within eyesight of his apartment building and saw a woman leaving the building earlier in the day carrying cleaning supplies, according to the complaint.

Police said he told investigators that he wasn’t suspicious at the time because there are other tenants in the building. The items taken from the man’s apartment were valued at $2,365, according to the complaint.

Video from surveillance cameras near the apartment show a woman later identified as Hudson leaving the building. She was carrying a large load of items and walking along Lock Street before stopping to place something on the ground near the intersection of East Seventh Avenue, police said.

An empty black bag found at the intersection was used by the resident to store his coin collection, the complaint said.

On Nov. 11, investigators viewed video from a second burglary in which the same woman entered an apartment in an adjacent building that shares an entrance with the one where the first theft occurred, police said.

The items taken in the second theft were valued at $730. They included Nike Air Jordan tennis shoes, Dior cologne, an iPhone case and $130 in cash and coins, the complaint said.

Police said video from inside the second building showed Hudson checking for unlocked doors and stealing valuables from an apartment.

Tarentum police were able to identify Hudson as their suspect April 4 after she was arrested by Pittsburgh police, the complaint said.

The arresting officer called Tarentum to inquire whether there were any open burglary cases in the borough, according to the complaint.

Video from the burglaries in Tarentum was sent to the Pittsburgh officer who said the woman seen in the recordings was Hudson, authorities said.

In October, McCandless police charged Hudson with two misdemeanor counts of theft. A hearing on those charges is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24 .

Pittsburgh police charged Hudson on April 24 with a felony count of burglary along with counts of theft and receiving stolen property. A preliminary hearing on those charges is scheduled for June 5 in Pittsburgh.

Last September, Hudson was charged by Scott Township police with a felony count of receiving stolen property. A judge ordered her to stand trial on the charge during a May 9 court appearance, court records show.
