Police say guns, drugs and money were seized during a warrant served Oct. 12, 2021, at an apartment on Vale Avenue in Plum.

A former Plum resident pleaded guilty in federal court to drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms, federal officials announced Wednesday.

Solomon S. Givens, 55, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Robert J. Colville to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, para-flurofentanyl and a mixture of para-fluorofentanyl and fentanyl.

Givens, who has 13 prior felony convictions, also pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The DEA and Allegheny County District Attorney Narcotics Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on an apartment used by Givens on Vale Avenue in Plum’s Regency Park neighborhood on Oct. 12, 2021, officials said in a release. They did so after Givens left the apartment and was detained at a traffic stop.

Investigators recovered several kilograms of drugs during the search along with eight firearms. Officers said they found between $25,000 and $30,000 in cash.

Colville scheduled Givens’ sentencing for May 29. He faces 10 years to life in prison and up to a $10 million fine.

Givens was ordered to remain in custody.
