It may be some time before Frazer has a new, permanent police chief.
Supervisors will not vote at their meeting Tuesday to appoint a new chief, and there is no timeline for doing so, said Lori Ziencik, board member and township secretary.
“That takes time,” she said. “We haven’t really had a chance to talk about it yet.”
The township’s longtime police chief, Terry Kuhns, died in April.
Supervisors swiftly named police Sgt. Aaron Scott to fill the role as acting chief but have not met since.
Scott has served as a sergeant in Frazer for about five years.
Until a new chief is appointed, Scott will lead the department of five full-time officers and one part-timer.
“We’re going to continue along that path for now,” Ziencik said.
Supervisors are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
