A video of a Harrison teen posing with what appeared to be a firearm has been removed from the TikTok social media platform after police investigated a report about the incident, according to authorities.

The 13-year-old boy from the Sheldon Park neighborhood actually was posing with a toy firearm, police Chief Michael Klein said. The boy’s name is not being released.

The teen’s mother was not aware of the boy’s post on social media until she was notified by an investigator, Klein said. Police received a report about the video shortly before 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1, the chief said.

There are no criminal charges that can be filed against the teen or his mother since the incident did not involve an actual firearm, the chief said.

The teen, however, will be facing charges in juvenile court for other incidents that are unrelated to the TikTok video, Klein said.
