A New Kensington man who was charged with selling fentanyl and cocaine nearly 18 months after his home was raided is scheduled to appear before a district judge.
Christoper Simmons, 36, of the 1100 block of Constitution Boulevard was detained during a Dec. 30, 2021, raid by a team of narcotic agents and police, according to a criminal complaint.
He was charged in late June with two felony and two misdemeanor counts of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver.
Simmons was taken into custody Sept. 7 and released the following day after a bail agency posted a $40,000 bond on his behalf, according to court records.
He was ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr. on Nov. 2.
Police wrote in a criminal complaint that agents and police officers went to Simmons’ home with a search warrant and detained him after he stepped out onto his back porch.
A woman and several children inside the house also were detained while police searched for evidence, police said.
Investigators confiscated 28 packets of fentanyl, 14 grams of crack cocaine and a digital scale covered in cocaine residue, according to the complaint.
Police also found a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic pistol and a magazine loaded with 19 rounds of ammunition, according to the complaint.
A loaded magazine for a .40-caliber pistol and a gun box for a .22-caliber handgun also were removed from the house, the complaint said.
Investigators said the drugs were analyzed by a state police crime lab and tested positive.
