Holy Family Knights of Columbus Council 4242 donated 48 new winter coats for elementary students in Plum and Riverview school districts.

Coats are being distributed to students through the assistance of the elementary guidance counselors at both school districts. Coats for Kids is one of the many charitable programs that the Knights of Columbus conducts to help our community.

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic lay organization, with nearly 2 million members, and is open to men 18 and older who are practicing Catholics.

KOC Council 4242 has more than 240 members from the Plum, Oakmont, and Verona areas. They support many charities from the proceeds of the council’s fundraisers, including Light of Life Mission, the McGuire Home for Exceptional Children, Plum Food Pantry, Rosedale Food Pantry and Adopt a Highway, along with providing coats and personal supplies for veterans.
