Leechburg Area School Board members hired a new business manager at a special voting meeting Thursday night.

Gregory Cessna was hired in a 7-0 vote. Board members Anthony Townsend and Andrew Pallus were absent from the meeting.

The hiring comes after the district’s previous manager, Teresa Edinger, resigned in May to take a job at Lenape Technical School.

Leechburg Area Superintendent David Keibler said finding a new business manager can be difficult, but he’s excited about the new hire.

“We are so fortunate,” he said.

Cessna has more than 12 years of experience and currently is controller and director of financial operations at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

He is set to start Aug. 21 with a salary of $105,000.
