Lower Burrell Councilwoman Rosina Albanese is singing the national anthem at President Trump’s campaign stop Thursday at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.

Albanese, 27, a Republican, said she was called recently by a Republican Party representative asking if she would sing at a high profile event at the Unity airport.

“I didn’t realize the extent of the event until Monday morning, when I was called by Donald Trump’s re-election campaign,” she said.

Albanese has sung at fundraisers and church events over the years.

Albanese believes she received the invitation after someone saw her sing recently at the Hempfield Park amphitheater during the Westmoreland County Republican Committee re-organization meeting last month.

To prepare for Thursday night, Albanese said she is drinking extra water and staying calm.

Albanese’s rendition of the national anthem during the rally will be live streamed on YouTube and other social media platforms, she said. The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Albanese’s musical background includes singing for the Worship Team at Evangel Heights, Assembly of God, in Buffalo Township, and in musicals during high school at Evangel Heights Christian Academy. Previously, she has competed in Assembly of God talent competitions.
