A Lower Burrell man is behind bars after police accused him of shooting through his apartment wall at his neighbors early Saturday.

Lower Burrell police charged Khalil Shawn Pryor, 23, with attempted homicide, four counts of aggravated assault, two counts each of recklessly endangering another person and simple assault, and a count of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.

Police were dispatched about 1 a.m. Saturday to an apartment complex at 4200 Arnold Ave. for a reported shooting. The caller said her neighbor, Pryor, was shooting through the wall into her apartment, according to a criminal complaint.

The two people in the apartment, a man and woman, told officers that Pryor had gotten into an argument with them and they were yelling at each other through the wall. Pryor had banged on their front door, yelling at them to come outside, but they refused, police said.

The man told police that later, while he was sitting on the toilet, he got into an argument with Pryor through the shower wall. Pryor then fired a gunshot through the wall, which the man said he felt go over his head, the complaint said.

Officers said they located a single projectile that had passed through the wall and hit a medicine cabinet. Bullet fragments also were found on the floor and in the medicine cabinet, police said.

Westmoreland County detectives determined that the round was about 1 foot from hitting the man in the head, the complaint said.

While police were detaining Pryor, he told officers that he was tired of hearing his neighbors scream and yell every night. Pryor also told officers where his gun was located in his apartment, the complaint said.

Pryor’s bail was set at $250,000, and he is being held at the Westmoreland County jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 3 before District Judge Cheryl Peck Yakopec.
