New Kensington police accuse a man of participating in a burglary at a home where fireworks were stolen and more than $1,000 in damage was caused while the occupants were away camping.

Trevon Lamont Wilson, 20, of the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue in Arnold was charged with felony counts of burglary and conspiracy.

He was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond to await a Dec. 7 preliminary hearing before District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr.

Police were able to identify one of two other men involved in the Oct. 29 burglary, but charges have not yet been filed, according to the court docket.

The occupants of the home reported to police that they returned home from a camping trip to find the back door and a dining room window open, according to a criminal complaint.

Security video showed one of the three men using a garbage can to climb through the dining room window while Wilson served as a lookout between the homes, police said. The unidentified man served as a lookout on the front porch, according to the complaint.

The occupants told police that a TV valued at $400 was damaged when the man came through the window and that a $700 laptop computer was destroyed when he stepped on it, the complaint said.

The family reported that $200 worth of fireworks were stolen and that the fence, siding and gutters were damaged during the burglary, the complaint said.
