Fawn police say they arrested a man after a resident gave them video from a Ring doorbell camera that shows him breaking into her house and demanding money.

David Spencer Lardin, 34, of Chestnut Street in Harrison’s Natrona neighborhood was charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass along with a count of criminal mischief in connection with the alleged May 11 break-in at a home in the 400 block of Dellenbaugh Road.

The woman reported the theft June 16, telling police she delayed reporting the incident because Lardin has a drug problem and she felt sorry for him, the complaint said.

The woman told police that Lardin forced his way into her home by breaking through the front door and then came to her bedroom asking for money, the complaint said.

She reported to police that she handed Lardin some cash and he left. Police did not say how much money the woman gave him.

Police said video from a Ring camera shows Lardin getting into the woman’s house by breaking the front door, which caused more than $500 in damage.

Investigators said the man seen in the video matches the photo on Lardin’s driver’s licence, according to the complaint.

In 2019, Lardin pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of simple assault and reckless endangerment filed by Fawn police and was sentenced to 18 months in jail, court records show.

In April 2017, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drug charged filed by New Kensington police and was sentenced to six months of probation, according to court records.

Lardin also pleaded guilty in 2017 to misdemeanor charges of false identification to law enforcement and disorderly conduct filed by Arnold police and was sentenced to six months of probation, court records show.
