A 25-year-old Tarentum man escaped injury during a one-vehicle crash along Route 28 late Wednesday, authorities said.

Marquis Velez crashed his Ford Fusion just before 10:25 p.m. near the Tarentum exit ramp.

State police said Velez was traveling south when he jerked the steering wheel and caused the vehicle to travel into the median, strike the guardrail and overturn.

The vehicle landed in the northbound lane, according to the police report.

The crash temporarily closed one lane of traffic.

“It was a single vehicle that landed on its roof, with no injuries,” said Brad James, chief of Eureka Community Ambulance Service.

His department responded along with Summit Hose and Tarentum police.
