The body of a man was found on a grassy hillside off Guys Run Road in Indiana Township early Monday afternoon.

Indiana Township Police Chief Steve Colucci said his officers were dispatched at about 1:30 p.m. for reports of three shots fired near Encompass Health and Rehabilitation Hospital of Harmarville.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a silver Lexus in the upper parking lot of the facility.

The man, estimated to be in his 20s, died of apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds, Colucci said.

He did not appear to have any connections to the rehab center, Colucci said.

The rehab center and nearby Adat Shalom synagogue were on lockdown for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, Colucci said. There was no threat to the public at any time, he said.
