Music festival Sept. 3 at Hartwood Acres in Hampton, Indiana townships
The Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheatre will rock Sept. 3 with the Allegheny County Music Festival to benefit children and youth.
The music begins at 5:30 p.m., with Men Without Hats to take the stage at 8 p.m., according to an Aug. 23 announcement from the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. The line-up also includes The Re-52s and The Affordable Floors.
Face painting will start and food trucks will open at 5 p.m. Bella Terra Vineyards and Hop Farm Brewing Co. will also be on site.
The suggested donation for each car is $20, which will go to the Allegheny County Music Festival Fund, which has benefited thousands of children and youth by purchasing life-enriching items and opportunities that would not otherwise be available through traditional government sources, according to the department.
The fund invests roughly $75,000 annually to help an average of 150 youngsters.
The evening will also include a 50/50 raffle and a raffle for baskets featuring regional merchandise and gift certificates. The winner for the 50/50 will be drawn at 8 p.m. The winner must be present to claim the prize. Basket winners will be notified after the event.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair and arrive early to stake out their area on the lawn.
