A weekly bicycle ride through Arnold and New Kensington is expanding as it returns for its second season in June.

The New Ken-Arnold Slow Roll will be held every Tuesday beginning June 4 and running into October, organizer Neil Walker said.

Participants will gather about 6 p.m. at the ball fields near 18th Street in Arnold and head out at 6:15. The course is a roughly 3-mile loop down Fifth Avenue to United Presbyterian Church along Sixth Street in New Kensington, and then back to Arnold on Fourth Avenue.

New this year will be two other locations where people can join the ride and where bicycles will be available for anyone who doesn’t have their own. Those locations are Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on Fourth Avenue and United Presbyterian Church.

The bicycles were donated by POGOH, Pittsburgh’s bikeshare program, Walker said. The program donated its bicycles to many organizations when it got a new fleet, he said.

The Slow Roll is open to all ages. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

More information and updates can be found on the New Ken-Arnold Slow Roll Facebook page.
