Oversized fun for all ages at Harmar's Zone 28
Oversized patio games, a fire pit and more than 100 different beers are just some of the options being offered at the new beer park at Zone 28 in Harmar.
The beer park is the latest in Zone 28’s entertainment evolution over the past few years.
In that time they’ve changed their name from Fun Fest to Zone 28 and expanded and remodeled the bowling alley, game room and laser tag. They’ve added a VIP suite, escape rooms, a sports bar and restaurant.
“We wanted to keep it modern, add in some new entertainment and really open up the place so that it wasn’t sectioned off into different areas,” said Kayla Bedilion, Zone 28 event manager. “The beer park is really just to top it all off.”
The beer park seats up to 120 people and taps into a new kind of entertainment space by offering a Jumbotron TV to show sporting events and television shows, as well as corn hole, bocce and giant Connect Four and Jenga games.
“We’re really just trying to create an outdoor space unlike anything else in Pittsburgh with some entertainment,” Bedilion said “It is also a pet friendly patio.”
The beer park opened at the end of June, but will officially have a grand opening this weekend. The celebration runs through Sunday with specials, giveaways and other promotional activities.
The space is partially covered and can be rented out for events. Customers can also just stop by to grab a few drinks and dinner.
Customers can choose from 100 different kinds of bottled beer as well as more than 20 rotating draft beers.
“We have everything inside for the rainy days and winter months but we really wanted to focus on keeping the entertainment or the summer months,” Bedilion said.
She said having the new beer park will open up more opportunities for both what they can offer and what customers can enjoy.
“This is definitely an all-ages entertainment center,” Bedilion said. “I tell everybody we book anything from a first birthday party to a 90th birthday party, we book baptisms to retirements, really anything and everything for all ages.”
