Pair ordered to trial after drug raid at New Kensington home
Two people accused of selling drugs after agents raided their New Kensington home in August have been ordered to stand trial.
William Art Tamuschy Jr., 56, and Janet Lea Glubish, 55, both of the 1000 block of Edgewood Road, were charged with felony counts of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver and three related drug offenses after state and Westmoreland County drug agents raided their home Aug. 30, according to a criminal complaint.
Tamuschy was released from custody on a $25,000 unsecured bond. On Sept. 14, he waived his right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr., who ordered him to stand trial in Westmoreland County Court.
Glubish, who was being detained in the Westmoreland County jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond, also waived her right to a preliminary hearing before Pallone on Sept. 14 and was ordered to stand trial.
Police charged Breavett Akeem Champion, 38, who was living in the home’s basement, with two misdemeanor counts of drug possession. He was charged by summons and ordered to appear before Pallone for a preliminary hearing Nov. 14.
Agents from the state Attorney General’s Office and the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force, which includes officers from New Kensington, broke through the door of the Edgewood Road home Aug. 30 after nobody inside answered, according to a criminal complaint.
Glubish and Champion were found in the home along with two other men who were not charged, police said.
Agents who searched the house confiscated 40.5 grams of marijuana, 5.4 grams of cocaine, three digital scales coated in cocaine residue and drug packaging supplies, the complaint said.
Nearly $1,200 in cash was seized, including $580 in bills that police had marked for undercover drug purchases, according to the complaint.
Another 2 grams of cocaine were found in Champion’s pocket when he was searched, police said.
