People who travel through Fawn soon might be able to stop at a Route 908 convenience store and pick up beer, wine and more.

Par Mar at 7208 Route 908 is in line for a liquor license, if approved by township supervisors and the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

The township will have a public hearing on the transfer at 6 p.m. Feb. 13.

If approved by supervisors, the application by Par Mar Oil Co. will be processed by the PLCB. There is no timeline for a potential opening.

The store is eyeing sales of beer and wine for takeout, as well as to customers ordering food inside the store.

In-house consumption would be limited. Customers would be able to buy two 12-ounce beers with the purchase of food, Fawn Solicitor Sean Gallagher said.

“They intend to offer a full-service restaurant and bar,” Gallagher said.

Par Mar spokesman David Allen said the company did not have any comment at this time.

Headquartered in Marietta, Ohio, Par Mar has operated for nearly 60 years. There are 234 stores with 2,600 employees.

Nearby, Par Mar operates on Ekastown Road and South Pike Road, both in Buffalo Township, and along Dinnerbell Road in Saxonburg.

Township Secretary Pam Ponsart said the liquor license is from outside the area, coming from Pittsburgh’s South Side. It belonged to the now-closed Scenario Nightclub.

Ponsart and Gallagher said there have been no concerns voiced by residents.

“People will have the chance to ask questions and express any interests during the public hearing,” Gallagher said.

Anyone interested in speaking on the issue should attend the hearing at the township municipal building, 3054 Howes Run Road.
