Details of a reported armed robbery along Route 28 in Harmar that left one man wounded remain a mystery, state police said Wednesday.

A Pittsburgh man who was treated at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Harrison for shooting-related injuries told police that he had been robbed and shot near Route 28’s Harmar exit, according to state police Cpl. Chris Robbins.

But Robbins described the man’s version of events as “sketchy.”

“The guy is uncooperative and we don’t know where exactly the incident occurred,” Robbins said.

Robbins said police are continuing to investigate. Police did not identify the shooting victim, but said his injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
