A Parks Township man who was riding in a pickup pulled over for a suspended registration in Kiski Township on Tuesday was charged after police say he admitted to having a smorgasbord of drugs in the truck.
Kiski Township police said Thomas William Brydon III, 37, was in possession of 45 packets of heroin, two jars of marijuana and more than 70 tranquilizer pills.
Brydon was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, police said.
Police said they pulled over a pickup being driven by a woman at River and Glorietta Hill roads at 7:20 p.m. because it had a suspended registration, according to a criminal complaint.
Brydon was a passenger.
Police said they could smell marijuana coming from inside the truck.
Both Brydon and the woman were told to get out of the truck and were searched.
Police said they found a glass pipe tucked in Brydon’s left sock that contained suspected marijuana residue.
Police handcuffed Brydon and he said, “That’s my weed pipe,” according to the complaint.
Brydon was then placed in the police vehicle where police say he told them, “Anything you find in the vehicle is mine,” according to the complaint.
Police said they searched the woman’s truck and found the aforementioned drugs.
Brydon and the woman were released at the scene, and police informed them that they would be receiving charges in the mail, according to the complaint.
