A Pittsburgh man who ran from police after allegedly threatening another man with a gun in downtown Pittsburgh, was found to have a gun that was stolen in Lower Burrell, Pittsburgh police said.

Tymozh Toles, 18, of Pittsburgh’s Greenfield neighborhood, is accused of having a loaded gun in a backpack when officers stopped him around 6 p.m. Tuesday, and another gun in the backpack that authorities determined was stolen from Lower Burrell, Pittsburgh police said.

Police said Toles was arrested after threatening a man with a gun during an argument over parking shortly before 6 p.m. in the 500 block of Penn Avenue. The responding police officer called for backup and began walking behind the suspect as he turned onto Sixth Street toward Fort Duquesne Boulevard, police said. The officer told the suspect on Fort Duquesne Boulevard to come to him and ordered him to place his hands on his head, but he started to run. He did not stop despite the officer giving him multiple commands to stop.

Toles laid on the ground after a short chase and officers placed him in custody without incident, police said.

Toles was charged with receiving stolen property, illegal possession of a firearm, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possessing instruments of crime, evading arrest on foot, possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct.

He was released on $1,000 bond, pending a preliminary hearing on Sept. 18.
