A Zelienople man died after jumping off a Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge into the Allegheny River on Tuesday morning in Harmar, police said.

State police identified the man as Timothy Hilster, 57.

Police and rescue workers pulled Hilster’s body from the river around 9:30 a.m. following reports of someone jumping from the Turnpike bridge that spans the river. The initial call came in at 8:45 a.m.

A state trooper confirmed later at the scene that a man jumped from the bridge and died. A state police report released Tuesday evening said there were no signs of foul play and lists the nature of the incident as suicide.

Rescue workers pulled the man out of the river at Deer Creek Boat Ramp and loaded him on a stretcher and into an ambulance.
