Allegheny Township police accused two New Kensington women of breaking into a home after the owners reported seeing activity on their Ring doorbell camera while away on vacation.

Hailey Marie Bollinger, 20, of the 500 block of Keystone Drive was charged Aug. 17 with felony counts of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property along with a count of criminal mischief in connection with the Aug. 6 incident.

Police also charged Sydney Rose Chapman, 20, of the 1100 block of Woodmont Avenue with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass and a count of criminal mischief.

Both women were released from custody on $5,000 unsecured bonds to await preliminary hearings before District Judge Cheryl Peck Yakopec on Sept. 5, according to court records.

Charges against a man accused of participating in the break-in and then stealing the homeowner’s car have not yet been filed, according to court records.

Police wrote in separate criminal complaints charging the pair that officers responded shortly before 10:30 a.m. Aug. 6 to a home in the 800 block of Sunrise Drive after the owner reported seeing activity on her Ring doorbell camera while she was on vacation.

Family members met police at the home to let them inside, where they found Chapman sleeping, according to the complaint.

Chapman told police she, Bollinger and a man they were with first broke into a shed on the property to get a tool that they used to break the kitchen window and get inside the house, the complaint said.

The homeowner told police that their Subaru was parked in the garage and the keys were left on the kitchen counter, but the keys and the vehicle were gone when officers checked, according to the complaint.

Chapman, who told police she knew she was not allowed inside the house, said the man was with Bollinger when she drove the vehicle to a bar in Parks Township where she works, the complaint said.

Police said Bollinger admitted to breaking into the house and told them that the man was with her when she drove the vehicle to work.

Security video from the bar showed the man, who police said they knew, driving away in the vehicle after dropping Bollinger off, police said.

Within 30 minutes, police in Vandergrift responded to a vehicle crash involving a Subaru that struck the retaining wall of a home, according to the complaint.

Security video from near the crash site showed the same man who drove off from the bar fleeing the scene before police arrived, the complaint said.

Police said fingerprints and DNA evidence were collected at the scene and sent to a lab for analysis.
