A Ford City man who works as a school bus driver has been accused of sexually assaulting a teenager while on a break between shifts transporting school students.
David Lorigan, 40, of the 1600 block of Third Avenue was arrested Sept. 7 and charged with felony counts of corruption of minors along with two counts each of indecent assault and indecent assault of a person younger than 16.
Lorigan was being detained in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of a $30,000 cash bond to await a preliminary hearing before District Judge J. Gary DeComo on Sept. 19, according to court records.
An officer with the Southern Armstrong County Police Department wrote in a criminal complaint that she attended a forensic interview July 17 at the Kay’s Cottage child advocacy center in Kittanning of a 15-year-old who reported being sexually assaulted.
Police did not identify the bus company Lorigan worked for or for which district he transported students.
The teen told authorities they were sexually assaulted by Lorigan at his home twice in May and that both incidents happened on a Wednesday, the complaint said.
The teen said Lorigan works as a bus driver and returns home from his morning shift around 8 a.m. and leaves about 1 p.m. to drive students home, the complaint said.
When authorities questioned Lorigan on Aug. 4, he told them he and the teen were alone in his home during the time the alleged assaults took place, the complaint said.
