Springdale Council sifts through 15 applications for borough manager position
Springdale Council is considering applications from 15 candidates to fill the borough manager’s post.
After the window to submit applications closed Monday, interim Manager Jason Dailey said council’s personnel committee will rank the applicants before conducting interviews.
Of the 15 applicants, Dailey said four have previous municipal experience.
Though the timeline is “probably aggressive,” he said, the borough is hoping to have a new manager by May or June. The position was left vacant by the resignation of former Manager Veronica McKay for another position in September.
Dailey, a consultant who has served on an interim basis in about half a dozen local communities, took over soon after.
Dailey said the committee will search for a candidate with “seasoned borough experience.”
“I do think there will be a good candidate that comes out of that pool,” he said. “And I’m confident that they’ll have a replacement here in the next couple months.”
The personnel committee comprises council President Mike Ziencik, Dolly Stephens and Joe Kern.
Though he has not had a chance to fully review the applications yet, Ziencik said he would favor the candidate “most beneficial to the borough.”
