Springdale police accused two women of working as prostitutes after they offered to exchange sex for money with a police officer who was working undercover, according to investigators.
Alexis Radovitch, 36, of the 500 block of Walnut Street in Springdale was charged with a felony count of promoting prostitution along with counts of prostitution, possession of an instrument of crime, criminal conspiracy and two drug charges.
She was released from custody on a nonmonatery bond to await a Nov. 13 preliminary hearing before District Judge David Sosovicka.
Police also charged Brandy Marie Kralik, 38, of Wilson Avenue in Springdale with misdemeanor counts of prostitution and criminal conspiracy along with two drug charges.
She was being detained in the Allegheny County Jail after bail was denied because she is wanted on an arrest warrant issued in Rockville, Md., the complaint said. The complaint did not specify what the Rockville warrant was for. Her preliminary hearing before Sosovicka is scheduled for Nov. 6.
In February, Kralik was ordered to stand trial on charges that she was using heroin while caring for two children.
Kralik, who has previous convictions for selling drugs, was charged Jan. 27 by Frazer police with two felony counts of endangering the welfare of children. She also is charged with making terroristic threats, simple assault, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct and prohibited acts. A trial date has not yet been set, according to court records.
In March 2017, Radovitch pleaded no contest to charges of defiant trespass, theft and criminal mischief filed by Frazer police. She was sentenced to a year of probation, according to court records.
In October 2018, Radovitch pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of DUI and resisting arrest along with two traffic citations filed by Springdale police. She was sentenced to six months of probation, court records show.
Police wrote in a criminal complaint supporting the prostitution charges that officers went undercover to arrest the pair on Friday after being alerted about a suspected escort service operating in the borough.
Investigators found an advertisement placed on a website specializing in escort services and used the telephone number listed to set up an appointment, the complaint said.
The ad stated that they “would love a sugar daddy thing” and “do ask for donations and I do accept tips for mind blowing experiences,” according to the complaint.
The woman told the undercover officer that the meeting would take place at a Harmat hotel room but agreed to his request that they go to her house in Springdale for the encounter instead, the complaint said.
The woman told the officer through subsequent text messages that the cost for the session was $280 plus an additional $100 if he wanted to have sex with two women, the complaint said.
Several officers surrounded the house while one of them went inside the home posing as the customer, police said.
After the women exposed themselves to the officer, he went to the bathroom and called the officers waiting outside to enter the house and arrest them.
While searching the house, police found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, the complaint said.
Radovitch agreed to let police search her cellphone, where they found nude photos of both women that were sent to potential “johns” along with numerous messages from clients who were setting up appointments, the complaint said.
Both women told police they were working as prostitutes to support their drug habits and to pay bills, the complaint said.
