Temporary traffic disruptions are expected in Tarentum over the next two weeks.

Crews will begin replacing utility poles throughout the borough on Monday, starting along West Fourth Avenue.

Work is part of the borough’s planning and maintenance program.

The project will target nine locations, the last of which was added along Porter Street following Tuesday’s residential fire.

Pole replacements are scheduled for 141 W. Fourth Ave., 22 W. Seventh Ave., 713 Mill St., 532 E. Eighth Ave., 616 E. Eighth Ave., 632 E. Ninth Ave., 612 E. Ninth Ave., 1012 Coe St. and 913 Porter St.

People are asked to use caution when traveling near the work areas.

Residents can expect the possibility of brief service outages.

Borough officials approve several poles to be replaced each year in an effort to maintain a safe and reliable system. The possible short service outages will yield long-term improvements, they said, and thanked residents for their patience.
