Saxonburg seminar to discuss honeybees

South Butler Community Library in Saxonburg will host a free program about honeybee biology and products from hives at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 240 W. Main St.

Master Gardener Hannah Durkin will discuss beekeeping equipment and what it takes to become a beekeeper. Reservations are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.

Annual 5K run/walk to raise funds for St. Margaret Foundation

The 37th annual St. Margaret Foundation Brian Demchak Hope Challenge will be May 11 to 17.

Participants can complete a virtual 5K at their convenience anytime from May 11 to 17 on their own outside, on a treadmill, dance floor or in a pool. Registration is required by April 18 to receive an event t-shirt.

The RIDC O’Hara Lunchtime Wellness Walk will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 13. For details, call 412-784-4205 or visit stmargaretfoundation.org/challenge. Proceeds benefit the foundation that provides medication, transportation and more to fill in the gaps for patients at UMPC St. Margaret Hospital.

May 14: St. James and Our Lady, Queen of Peace parishes will sponsor a bus trip to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from the St. James parking lot, 109 Owens View Drive.
