Vaccination and microchip clinic offered by Animal Protectors

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will host a vaccination and microchip clinic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the shelter parking lot, 730 Church St., New Kensington.

Services available and cost are: one-year rabies vaccine, $15; distemper 5-in-1 core canine vaccine, $20; FvRCP 3-in-1 core feline vaccine, $20; and microchip, $25, cash only. Park and walk up to the event; this is not a drive-thru clinic.

Animals must be at least three months old to receive a rabies shot. Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash and cats must be in a carrier.

Vendor spaces available for Flea-tique season

The Alle-Kiski Valley Historical Society’s Flea-tique will begin the season May 21 at the Bull Creek Tour-Ed Mine site, off Bull Creek Road, Route 28, exit 14 in Fawn.

Flea-tiques will run through October on the third Sunday of the month, rain or shine. Vendors deal only in antiques and collectibles. Spaces are 24 x 20-feet and cost $30 per month or $150 per season reflecting one free month. Hours are dawn to 1 p.m.

Checks made out to AKVHS can be mailed to 224 E. Seventh Ave., Tarentum PA 15084. For details, call 724-224-0178 or email fleatique82@gmail.com. Proceeds benefit the society’s Heritage Museum and the Tour-Ed Mine Museum.

April 13: A spaghetti dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Apollo United Presbyterian Church, 401 First St. Menu: spaghetti with marinara or alfredo sauce, meatballs or sweet sausage by Le Café Restaurant. Avonmore

April 22: A bingo to benefit the Avonmore Senior Center will begin at 1 p.m. at the center, 458 Railroad Ave. Doors open at 11 a.m. and free coffee and doughnuts will be served before the games start. An early bird jackpot game will be at 12:45 p.m. There will be a 50/50, door prize, 14 regular games, five specials and a $300 last jackpot game. Cost: $20 before April 21; $25 at the door, cash only. Tickets: 724-697-4014.

Wednesday : Alle-Kiski Strong Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon with Pennsylvania Sen. Lindsey Williams from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Futules’ Harmar House, 1321 Freeport Road. Kiski Township 

April 15: A Night at the Races to benefit the Apollo-Ridge Baseball and Softball Boosters will be at 6 p.m. at the Apollo Spring Church Sportsman’s Club, Route 56. Lower Burrell 

Oct. 22: New Kensington Moose is accepting table reservations for a fall craft and vendor show planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge, 499 Reimer St. Spaces limited to one representative from each company on a first come, first served basis. New Kensington 

Tuesday and Saturday: The Community Clothes Closet, 1129 Kenneth Ave., will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Items available include clothing for all members of the family, shoes and linens. First-time customers receive 15 free items. Summer clothing donations welcome during business hours.
