Free rides available to medical appointments
Wesley Family Services offers free transportation for those 18 and older from their homes to medical facilities within New Kensington, Arnold, Lower Burrell and parts of Vandergrift.
Rides are available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays except holidays. One-way and round-trip rides are available.

Drivers sought by Freeport Meals On Wheels
Volunteers are needed to drive meals to the clients of Freeport Meals On Wheels.
Shifts are one hour per week. For information, call Betsy at 724-353-1424.
Donations welcome for Easter meals, treats
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank is accepting donations that will be used to create specially prepared treat bags with a gift card to be used for the purchase of an Easter meal for our neighbors in need.
Each basket costs $15. Checks made out to AVAC Food Bank can be sent to AVAC, 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights PA 15065. Donations will be acknowledged.
The Association of the Churches would like to thank those who donated to the Christmas basket campaign. Over 400 families received food baskets and 32 additional families were provided with a total of over 2,700 gifts through the emergency assistance fund.

May 14: St. James and Our Lady, Queen of Peace parishes will sponsor a bus trip to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from the St. James parking lot, 109 Owens View Drive. The group will be at the casino for five hours. Must be 21. Cost: $30, includes $20 in free play. State-issued photo ID required to receive free play. Reservations required. Thursday: The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center will distribute free grab-and-go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the center parking lot, 917 Brackenridge Ave. Free grocery items from Walmart and Aldi will be available. Everyone is welcome.

Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome; must be laundered and free from smoke and pet hair. Wheelchair accessible.
