Casino Theatre plans auditions for holiday show
The Casino Theatre in Vandergrift will hold auditions for its 27th annual Hometown Christmas production at 6 p.m. Aug. 26 at the theater.
Please use the stage door in the alley. Anyone who is at least 5 years old is welcome to try out. Be prepared to sing a short vocal selection and if requested, recite a few lines from a script that will be provided.

Volunteers needed at Allegheny Valley Hospital
Allegheny Valley Hospital in Harrison is looking for volunteers to join its lobby greeting and surgical reception teams.
Lobby volunteers greet patients and escort outpatients and guests to internal hospital areas. Surgical reception hosts welcome patients and families while overseeing the communication process during the day of surgery. Shifts are 6 a.m. to noon or noon to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

Leechburg event to feature band concert, croquet tournament
The Leechburg Area Community Association will host Sunday in the Park from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Riverfront Park gazebo behind Sprankle’s Community Market.
The Kiski Area Community Band will perform at 1 p.m. and there will be a croquet tournament. Hot dogs, baked goods and beverages will be sold with proceeds will benefit the 175th anniversary celebration planned next year and the Community Association.
Find a partner to compete in the croquet tournament. The entry fee is $5 per person and sign-ups are at the Leechburg Public Library on Market Street.
MAGIC! to perform Sunday at Hartwood Acres
The free 2024 Allegheny County Summer Concert series will feature the band MAGIC! at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheater, 4070 Middle Road, Hampton.
Bring a chair. Pop-up tents and umbrellas are permitted but must be taken down before the performance begins. Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash at all times and be up to date on all vaccinations and licensing.
