Annual live Nativity planned Sunday at Concordia

Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its annual live Nativity Sunday in front of the Haven II building, 148 Marwood Road.

Performances last 15 minutes and begin at 4:30, 5:15 and 6 p.m. Free parking will be available at Entrance 6 on Marwood Road. Hot beverages and refreshments will be served and gifts will be presented to guests 12 and younger. Bring a camera for photos with Santa.

Donations of cereal, instant potatoes, soups, canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter and new reusable grocery bags will be accepted for the Lighthouse Foundation food pantry. Dress for the weather. For details, call 724-352-8268.


Santa to visit Springdale

The Springdale Volunteer Fire Department will escort Santa Claus through the borough on Monday evening.

The route will be 6 p.m., Lincoln and Porter, 6:10 p.m., Garfield and Oak, 6:25 p.m., Hoeveler and Lincoln; 6:35 p.m., Butler and Willow; 6:50 p.m., James and Willow; 7 p.m., Marion and James; 7:10 p.m., Ridge and Maple; 7:25 p.m., Colfax and Rosslyn; 7:35 p.m., Colfax and Chestnut; 7:50 p.m., Porter and Elwyn; 8 p.m., Washington and Pittsburgh; and 8:10 p.m., Springdale Fire Station.

Freeport

Harrison  

Today: Highlands High School National Honor Society will sponsor a Stuff A Bus event for Toys for Tots from noon to 3 p.m. by St. Joseph High School and Community Library of Allegheny Valley in Natrona Heights. New, unwrapped toys and monetary contributions will be accepted.

Dec. 31: The Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a New Years Eve celebration from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Lane. Music will be by the Cool Change Band. Public welcome. Cost: $25, includes two drinks and food. Cash bar. Tickets: 724-904-7649.

Kiski Township 

Today: A drive-thru live Nativity will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at New Beginnings United Methodist Church, 1559 Route 56, Kiski Township. Light refreshments will be served and each child will receive a gift.

Leechburg

Lower Burrell

Today: Bethesda Lutheran Church will sponsor a Breakfast with Santa from 10 a.m. to noon at the church, 3084 Leechburg Road. Pancakes and refreshments will be served. Bring a camera for photos with Santa. Cost: $2; younger than 12, $1.

Today: The Veterans of Foreign Wars post, Wildlife Lodge Road, will feature the band Satin Whip from 8 to 11 p.m. Members and three guests welcome.

New Kensington 

Today: East Kensington Community Circle will host bingo in the Community Circle building, 1785 Seventh St., across from Martin Elementary School. Today: Bull Creek United Presbyterian Church will have a Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 224 Tarentum Culmerville Road. Items available will include Christmas trees, baked goods, vintage décor and handmade crafts. The kitchen will be open.
