Annual Shamrock Shuffle event planned in West Leechburg
The Shamrock Shuffle 5K and one-mile Fun Walk will begin at 10 a.m. March 22 at West Leechburg Volunteer Firehall, 1116 Gosser St.
Check-in will start at 9 a.m. The course will run through the streets of West Leechburg and return to the firehall. A virtual option is also available. Cost is $25 for the live 5K, and $20 for the live Family Walk and both virtual events.

Fundraiser to aid EV 125th anniversary celebration
The East Vandergrift 125th Anniversary Committee will host a purse and cash bash fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. March 15 in the hall at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church, 419 McKinley Ave., East Vandergrift.

Entries welcome for student poetry contest
Ligonier Valley Writers is accepting entries for its 34th annual student poetry contest.
Students in grades four through 12 who live in Western Pennsylvania are welcome to enter. There are nine categories and cash prizes awarded for first, second and third place awards and best in each age group. There are no entry fees.
