St. Joseph HS plans cash bash fundraiser

A community cash bash will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in Patterson Hall at Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, 800 Montana Ave., Harrison.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15, and include a light dinner, beer, water and a chance to win cash prizes. BYOB and snacks. Winner need not be present.

Checks made out to St. Joseph High School can be sent to 800 Montana Ave., Natrona Heights PA 15065. Proceeds will benefit the student transportation fund at the school. For details, call Amy Haugh at 724-226-7872 or email cashbash@saintjosephhs.com.


Annual hoop shoot to be sponsored by Leechburg Elks

The annual Leechburg Elks children’s Hoop Shoot competition will be Jan. 25 in the Leechburg Area High School gymnasium, Center Avenue.

Boys and girls age 8 to 13 from the Alle-Kiski Valley and Armstrong County areas are eligible. Doors open at noon for registration and the free competition will begin at about 12:15 p.m. Children will be registered according to their age as of April 1, 2025.

Jan. 27: Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St., will host a free women’s book discussion group at 11 a.m. and the last Monday of each month through May 2025. Led by Amy Armanious, each session will include a time of discussion and learning, followed by a light lunch and fellowship at noon. The book is “Boundless Compassion: Creating a Way of Life” by Joyce Rupp. All women are welcome and attendance is not required at every meeting.
