Kiski Twp. VFD to serve up Sunday breakfast

Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the firehall, 1037 Route 56.

The menu will include bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, biscuits & gravy and hash browns.

Cost is $12; children 5 to 12, $7.50; and children 4 and younger, $3.

Tuesday : Community Library of Allegheny Valley will host a New Year’s Resolution Bingo for students in fifth to 12th grade from 4 to 5 p.m. at the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd. Participants will make bingo cards with new year’s resolutions on them and there will be an opportunity to give input on planning new programs for teens in the new year. Jan. 11: Community Library of Allegheny Valley will offer a craft workshop to make beaded snowflakes from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd. Children in fourth to 12th grade welcome. Reservation required by Jan. 10. Reservations: alleghenyvalleylibrary.org.

Kiski Township

Jan. 19: Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church is accepting orders for a soup sale. Varieties: chicken noodle, stuffed pepper and beef barley. Cost: $8 per quart. Paid orders required by Jan. 10. New Kensington 

Saturday: The Community Clothes Closet, 1129 Kenneth Ave., will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Items available include clothing for all members of the family, shoes, linens, purses and handbags. Household items, dishes, appliances and books will no longer be accepted. Donations welcome during business hours only. Do not leave donations at the door.

Sunday: Aluminum City Terrace Bingo Committee will host bingo from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the activity center. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Cost: $5, includes one board, snacks and drinks; extra boards, $1 each. There will be a 50-50 raffle. Public welcome.

Parks Township

Sunday: Parks Township Sportsman’s Club will have a country music jam night from 5 to 8 p.m. at the club, 1111 Shipman Road. Bring your favorite stringed instrument and sing along. Refreshments available. Public welcome. Details: 724-845-2390.

Saxonburg

Saturday: South Butler Community Library will sponsor a family trivia event and sing-along with Disney favorites at 10:30 a.m. at the library, 240 W. Main St. There will be Disney door prizes. Springdale

Thursday : Springdale Free Public Library will have a Family Fun Night at 6 p.m. at the library, 331 School St. Law Enforcement Appreciation Day will be celebrated. There will be a craft and a visit with a local police officer. Reservations required. Reservations: 724-274-9729.

Tarentum

Saturday: The Clothing Closet at Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St., will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Details: 724-224-9220.

Sunday and Tuesday: Alcoholics Anonymous will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St. An opportunity for silent prayer will be at 6:30 p.m.

Jan. 11: The Masons are selling tickets for a 50-50 raffle to benefit the lodge scholarship program. The winning number will be drawn at the Jan. 11 pancake breakfast at the lodge, 307 Lock St., second floor. Cost: $2; six for $10. Tickets: send a check with “raffle” in the memo line made out to Pollock Lodge No. 502, 307 Lock St., Tarentum PA 15084.

West Deer
