Miss Freddye to perform tonight in Tarentum
Tarentum Summer Concert Series will feature Miss Freddye and her Band at 7 p.m. today in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park.
The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.
Opinions wanted about property use in New Kensington
The Better Block Foundation, Valley Points Family YMCA, Penn State New Kensington and the Richard King Mellon Foundation are collaboratively working on a community-led event that aims to inspire residents to creatively re-envision and transform the space next to Valley Points Family YMCA in New Kensington.
Anticipated enhancements include seating, art installations, and new opportunities for community gatherings. Results from this survey will help to guide the site design.

Lemonade stand to raise money for Alzheimer’s disease
Brody’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Colwell’s Xpress Lube, 660 S. Leechburg Hill Road, Allegheny Township.
There will be different flavors of lemonade, food trucks and a family fun raffle. The event is sponsored by Brody Toy, and money raised will go to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in memory of his great-grandfather, Joseph Kish.
Strawberry Festival planned Saturday at Burtner House
The 47th annual Burtner House Strawberry Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Burtner House homestead, 965 Burtner Road, Natrona Heights, Harrison.
There will be Civil War reenactors, crafters, demonstrations, food, a bake sale and basket raffle. Free parking and shuttle service will be available from the dirt parking area at Citizens Hose Firehall, Freeport Road, Harrison. No parking is available at the festival.
Admission is $10; students and seniors over 62, $5; children 6 and younger, free. Proceeds benefit Burtner House Restoration Society.

July 11: A rubber ducky race fundraiser to benefit the borough’s 175th anniversary celebration next year will be at 5 p.m. on the Kiski River. Ducks will be dropped into the river from the walking bridge to Hyde Park and will be fished out at the finish line at the firemen’s boat launch. Prizes will be awarded. Cost: $5 per duck. Ducks are available at Leechburg Public Library, 139 Market St. Checks payable to Leechburg Area Community Association will be accepted.

First-time recipients must provide their own ID, the child’s birth certificate and a current WIC or SNAP card. Distributions are the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Saturday: Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St., will have an indoor flea market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is conducting a clothing drive through June 29.
